GENERAL

What is Take the Con?

Take the Con is a cybersecurity for space systems conference presented by the Final Frontier Foundation and its partners. It emphasizes cyber security and cyber threat topics for satellites, space vehicles and future space systems. Take the Con is hosted and run by the non-profit Final Frontier Foundation. No product pitches, no marketing talks, just a conference for researchers, by researchers.

What happens at Take the Con?

A mix of presentations, trainings, networking, and contests.

How much does it cost to attend?

Typically between $250 and $350. We adjust annually based on projected expenses. Take the Con is a cost-recovery conference; pricing aims to stay minimal while covering what it takes to run the event.

Where is Take the Con held?

The U.S. Space & Rocket Center, 1 Tranquility Base, Huntsville, AL 35805.

Are there age restrictions?

No age limit. All attendees younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. We encourage family-friendly participation.

Is Take the Con a for-profit event?

No. Take the Con is run by the Final Frontier Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. There are no paid staff. The organization aims to retain roughly only enough annually to cover operational and startup expenses for the following year; everything else is reinvested in the conference.

Do I have to be a security or space professional to attend?

Maybe. The conference is aimed at aerospace security professionals, but it’s genuinely open to anyone interested in cyber-security, hacking, aerospace or security research. If that describes you, you’ll fit in.

Is Take the Con limited to government and education attendees?

No. Private corporations and individuals from all sectors are welcome. The conference has an education focus, but it isn’t restricted.

How do I speak at Take the Con?

Submit a response to the Call for Papers (CFP), which is evaluated by the conference committee. The 2026 Call for Papers opens in August; selections happen on a rolling basis. The CFP runs in two phases each year: open submissions — anyone can submit; and targeted recruitment — the committee reaches out to fill content gaps.

REGISTRATION

When does registration open?
